Whether you are a family in crisis, a social worker placing a complex case, or a clinician seeking the right level of care; Pearl Haven's intake process is designed to be clear, compassionate, and trauma-sensitive from the very first call.
Who we serve
Pearl Haven is a specialized residential treatment program. Our clinical intake team conducts a thorough assessment to ensure every admission is the right fit. For the youth, for her family, and for the program.
Pearl Haven serves female-identifying youth ages 11 to 17 who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation (CSEC) or sex trafficking, with associated complex trauma presentations.
We serve youth from across Hawai'i and accept national referrals. Our intake team coordinates directly with placing agencies, DHS, juvenile justice systems, and family attorneys across the country.
Pearl Haven provides a 24/7 residential treatment level of care with licensed clinical staff, accredited on-site education, and a full spectrum of experiential and therapeutic programming.
We specialize in complex PTSD, co-occurring mental health conditions, and the unique clinical needs of CSEC survivors. Our team is trained in EMDR, DBT, and Neurofeedback with specific CSEC expertise.
Pearl Haven accepts placement funding through state child welfare agencies, the Department of Human Services (DHS), juvenile justice systems, CAMHD, and private pay. Contact our intake team to discuss funding options.
Once a complete referral packet is received, our clinical team completes a multi-disciplinary assessment within 48 hours. Emergency placements can be discussed directly with our intake coordinator.
Getting here

We understand that reaching out is one of the hardest steps. Our clinicians meet you where you are. No judgment, no paperwork required to begin.
Pearl Haven accepts referrals from DHS, juvenile justice, child welfare agencies, and clinical providers statewide and nationally.
Completion of the referral packet and/or youth interview does not guarantee admission to Pearl Haven. If a youth is not admitted, staff will make reasonable efforts to refer the youth to an appropriate service. The person contacted and the outcome of the referral will be documented. Pearl Haven protects the confidentiality of referrals and cannot release information without guardian approval.
